Hello, we are the Ames Family; Josh, Robin, Hailey, & Austin. Ames Island Rentals has been family owned and operated for nearly 3 decades. It began with Josh’s parents, Mark and Lori Ames and is now operated by our family.

We started with one property in 2015 that was primarily used as a guest house. As the years went on, we assisted Josh’s parents with their properties and eventually took over complete operation in 2026. We’ve have added some new features to the units and will continue to make updates into the summer months. Our goal is to share our beautiful island with guests while offering a peaceful and cozy space to make you feel most relaxed.

Our two children are 5th generation islanders who will be joining the commercial fishing community in the upcoming years. Living on the island really is a family affair with traditions that date back to the 1800s. During your stay, you’re likely to see us wearing many hats. Our family works together tending moorings, hauling traps, maintaining lawns, delivering lobsters, and if we’re lucky, beach combing!
